The Meadows

The Meadows is the newest of our residential houses, situated close to the town centre of Arklow, County Wicklow. It became home to three young men Sean, Ben and Stephen in the summer of 2008.  Staff support is on hand 24/7 to enhance the independent living skills of these young men and offer them freedom of choice and control over their own lives, part of the natural transition into adulthood.  All of the young men that live in the Meadows enjoy a full and active life as members of the Anchorage Community and as individual members of other groups such as the 'Bray Lakers'.

All of the guys actively pursue their own personal hobbies and interests and they all enjoy spending quality time at home with their friends and family. Our service users are very much involved in the local community, Stephen attends a work placement at Ballyraine Garden Centre in Arklow and has recently begun work experience with Supervalu.  Ben is very environmentally friendly and has taken the responsibilty of recycling for the house.   Sean loves the craic, and loves to visit Maisie's pub and Darcy McGee's in Arklow where he is well known and welcomed.
